Loomis vs. Kent

The Loomis-Kent game featured a ton of Division I talent and grit. This was a hard fought game by both teams. Loomis came to play in the first with an exceptional forecheck making it difficult for Kent to break out. Kent fought hard against this and found their way out of the zone to put them on the board in the first. Goal by 2023 Grad Year, Alyah Cioffi #15. Kent brought this momentum into the second period and seemed to dominate that 16 minutes. Scoring again by #17 Ally Thanassi. Loomis was not ready to give up and came into the 3rd buzzing. With a power play goal by #12 Jenna Donohue, the energy lifted even higher. Loomis pulled their goalie but with a bad bounce off an imperfect pass, sent a puck down the ice into their own end. Loomis kept the tempo until the end of the game and didn’t give up. #33 Catie Boudiette was incredible between the pipes for Kent. Final score, 3-1 Loomis.

Hotchkiss vs. Loomis

One minute and eleven seconds into this game, Loomis pops the puck five hole to go up 1-0. Goal by #12 Jenna Donohue. The excitement didn’t last long as This early goal was the only goal to be scored for the rest of the game. Both teams appeared tired and could not get much going. Loomis did spend a vast majority of the game in the Hotchkiss end. Hotchkiss was able to keep shots from the outside for a majority of the game, leaving their goalie #29 Maggie Hatch to snatch up pucks. At times, Hatch was challenged by the high level talent on the Loomis team. She made some stellar saves to give her team every opportunity to be successful. Unfortunately, Hatch’s valiant effort was not enough on its own and Hotchkiss fell to Loomis 1-0.
