Thursday Updates- Girls Prep Holiday Tournaments

Deerfield  5    Worcester  1

Deerfield dominated this game. They looked solid in every zone and capitalized on their scoring opportunities. Worcester did have their share of chances but Deerfield bounced on loose pucks, not allowing many second chances. Deerfield played as one cohesive unit, which was the difference maker in today’s game.

Culver  2    Berkshire  1

Culver came out strong in the first period netting both of their goals. Their relentless forecheck and quick neutral zone transition made it difficult for Berkshire to get much offense going. The third would bring a fresh sheet of ice and a refreshed Berkshire squad, patiently working to dig themselves out of a 2 goal deficient. It would come close with a pulled goalie in the last 2 minutes of play and several chances with an extra skater. But Culver was able to hold on and stay disciplined in their end to take the win.

Cushing   4    Winchendon   0

A back and forth game, both teams played an even amount of time in their offensive zones. Cushing was able to score 2 goals early and not allow Winchendon to answer back. Cushing played a very disciplined game in front of their net, only allowing a few high quality chances and bounced on loose rebounds. They would get 2 more goals in the third and take a well earned victory.
