Rivers Bests Hebron at Home

November 30th- 5:00 PM

The Rivers School hosted Hebron Academy. Playing in net for Rivers was Ellie Todd and in net for the visiting team #33 Ainsley King. Rivers dominated much of the play while Hebron never gave up and made them earn every inch of ice. Final score was 5-1, with Rivers taking the win.

Rivers opened up the scoring, Rylee Glennon controlled the puck around the net and dished it to #19 in the slot. Where she took a quick shot and putting it past the Hebron goalie with over 10 minutes of play left in the period. Rivers next goal would come on the next shift, Glennon put in a bouncing rebound off of a shot in the high slot. The last goal of the period would be for Rivers and came off of a rush down the wing. Leslie Schwartz shot short side leaving a rebound for Kate Shaughnessy to put in the back of the net.

In the second, Hebron opened up the scoring with 5:44 left in the period. #11 Iman Shepard rushed down the ice and cut to the middle. She shot as she cut and beat the goalie high. Rivers quickly responded with Camille Phelan pulling the puck out of a scramble in front and lifting it top shelf with her back hand. There would be no more scoring for the remaining 3:04 left in the second.

A lone goal was scored in the third period, Rivers’ Schwartz stepped in from the point and took a hard shot from the dot and beat the goalie over her pad with 9:21 left in the game.
