Marion, MA- The first of two matchups in the Keller for LA and TA, a Friday night game at Tabor Academy. Lawrence comes into town at 9-0-5 while Tabor sits at 6-9-2.

Starting in goal for Lawrence Junior Brandon Milberg (Thornhill, ON) and for Tabor Junior Brandon Sherman (Attleboro, MA).

The first was period was all LA. They got the scoring started just a few minutes in as Matt Connor (Amherst, NH) found Sam Colangelo (Stoneham, MA) back door to make it 1-0. Just a few minutes later, John Riggins (Bethpage, NY) slides the puck over to Conor Lovett (Franklin, MA) on a 2v1 to make it 2-0 LA early in the first.  Braden Doyle (Lynnfield, MA) then jumped in on the scoring attack with an absolute highlight reel of a finish to make it 3-0. Assists on the play coming from Connor Sweeney (North Andover, MA) and Colangelo. With about 6 minutes left in the first, Tyler Young (Lancaster, MA) gets his first of the night to make it 4-0 LA. Doyle and David Sacco (Middleton, MA) getting the assists. The very next shift, Sacco found the back of the net to get on the scoresheet again. Nice look from Tyler Young feeding Sacco out front. End of one, 5-0 LA.

The start of the second lead to a goalie change for Tabor, Kyle Meyer (Tampa, FL) enters the net. It was a back and forth paced game and Tabor got the chance to capitalize on the power play. Clendenin Stewart (Cummings, GA) let’s a shot go from the top of the circle that deflects off a LA player and finds the back of the net to make it 5-1. Tabor sustained a little pressure in the period but at the end of two periods, 5-1 LA.

The third was very similar to the second, back and forth play with no results on the scoreboard. LA gets out of Tabor with a 5-1 win and moves to 10-0-5 with Dexter coming into town tomorrow afternoon. Tabor drops to 6-10-2 and host St.Mark’s tomorrow.

Milberg turned away 26/27 and gets the win. Sherman 12/17 and Myer 25/25 in the loss.

Three stars
1. Braden Doyle (Lawrence)
2. David Sacco (Lawrence)
3. Brandon Milberg (Lawrence)

NZ’s Take: In the first period, Lawrence was clicking on all cylinders. If they can put a full 54 minute effort together game in and game out, they will be a tough team to beat come playoff time. Conor Lovett has been hot of late, 9 points in his last 5 games. UNH commit David Sacco found his was on the scoresheet with another 2 point point. Tabor looks to get back on track tomorrow with a quality St.Marks team coming to Marion. Junior Jake Cady (Raynham, MA) showed some offensive flash tonight, good speed and skill and can be a threat at the prep level. Goalie Kyle Myer came in and shut the door in the last 36 minutes to keep the LA attack under control.
