Lawrence Academy Tops Belmont Hill to Remain Undefeated

Lawrence Academy traveled to Belmont Hill for the first of two ISL Keller Matchups. It was a slow first period and Belmont Hill carried the play in the LA but had nothing to show for it. At the end of 1, 0-0. Ethan Bastien (Natick, MA) got the scoring started for LA at the 12:00 mark of the second breaking through the Belmont Hill defense and beating Michael Hauswirth (Lincoln, RI) with his backhand to make it 1-0 Lawrence. Belmont Hill answered just a minute later on the power play, Luke Khozozian (Lexington, MA) finding Andrew Holland (Winchester, MA) to knot the game up at 1-1. Robby Griffin (Norwell, MA) then found the back of the net on an odd man rush coming from Holland to give Belmont Hill the lead 2-1. With under 2 minutes to play, Lawrence Academy went on the power play, 2020 NHL Draft prospect, Sam Colangelo (Stoneham, MA) blew it by Hauswirth to tie the game at 2-2. Assists coming from Braden Doyle (Lynnfield, MA) and Drew Bavaro (Bradenton, FL). At the end of 2 periods, 2-2.

At the 10:50 mark in the third, Colangelo had his second of the game to put LA ahead 3-2, Tyler Young (Lancaster, MA) and Drew Bavaro (Bradenton, FL) with the helpers. With under 4 minutes to go, Belmont Hill went on the power play and capitalized just seconds into the man advantage. It came from a point shot from Belmont Hill defenseman James Perullo (Revere, MA) and Junior forward Zephan Kraus (West Barnstable, MA) put home the rebound as it trickled by LA goalie Ian Graiff (Newfield, NJ). At the end of regulation, 3-3. In overtime, 47 seconds into the frame, Connor Sweeney (North Andover, MA) found Colangelo in the slot, and he completed the hat trick to give LA the 4-3 win.

Ian Graiff turned away 17/20 shots in the win and Michael Hauswirth made 25/29 stops.
