Neutral Zone Launches New & Improved NE Prep Hockey Website

Neutral Zone is excited to begin our second season working as a league website for New England Prep School Hockey (NEPSHIA). The website is free and has become the go-to-source for prep school hockey news, rosters, schedules, stats and standings.

“We learned a lot in our first season working with the league,” admitted Brian Murphy, VP of Neutral Zone who is heading the prep website. “In the off-season we completely re-designed the site, upgraded the back end to improve speed and functionality and added several new features. The site brings players, parents, coaches, scouts and fans unprecedented coverage of all things New England prep hockey.”

The new site (neutralzone.net/prep-mens) is the first free league sponsored website of its kind in New England. Every coach in the league has been given a username and password and it is their responsibility to input rosters, schedules and box scores after their home games. NZPrep staff, which is made up predominately of former Prep and College hockey players, will be responsible for game reports, previews of major matchups, news, special interest stories and weekly NZPrep Poll of the top 15 Teams in the league.

“New England prep was the only league in North America where you had to pay a third-party website to get rosters, stats, schedules and standings,” said Neutral Zone President Steve Wilk. “What that does is cuts off access and exposure to prep players. In following with our mission statement at Neutral Zone to make the game better, this is a very tangible opportunity for us to do that and give these players the level of coverage, exposure and access they deserve.”

The season kicks off in two weeks starting with a host of jamborees across New England, but most teams will play their first official game on Wed. Nov 28th.
