A native of Potsdam, NY playing youth and high school, until enrolling in prep school at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT for two years. Senior year won the New England Prep School Tournament Championship for Division 1 in 1992. He continued his career in college at Elmira College for four years (1992-1996) and participated in two NCAA Tournaments, earning ECAC West Conference Championship and finishing 3rd place in the country during freshman season.
Currently resides in Rochester, NY and was promoted to Director of NY Scouting in 2023. Hw will scout and organize our staff to evaluate several levels from youth U14/U15/U16/U18, prep school, USHL, NAHL, OHL, and NCAA. Riuss has been scouting USA-born players and beyond since 2012.
