Paul O’Hagan

Director of Ontario Scouting

Region: Ontario

O’Hagan was the first hire Director of Canadian Scouting, Marlin Muylaert, made as his former captain at University of Guelph. Paul has a long and distinguished hockey career as former NHL Draft pick by Quebec Nordiques in 1990 after captaining a Memorial Cup championship Oshawa Generals team in the 1989-90 season. He turned down a minor league pro career to pursue his education and played four years at the University of Guelph where he served as team captain and got a degree in business.

During the week Paul is a highly successful executive at Blackberry in Waterloo, ON but on the weekends he’s one of the sharpest and most respected hockey minds in Ontario. He was promoted to Director of Scouting for Ontario in 2019 taking his former University coach’s old job where he runs the OHL Draft Rankings and also assists in NHL Draft scouting for the OHL and Ontario region.
