Neutral Zone, LLC is pleased to announce a partnership with Mark Fitzgerald of Elite Training Systems; the leader in hockey specific combine testing and Sport Testing, Inc; the leader in sports testing and analytics to host our first ever On & Off Ice Testing Combine in Guelph, Ontario April 9th.
“We believe combine testing is the next step in the hockey evaluation process,” said Neutral Zone Founder Steve Wilk. “It’s become a major evaluation metric in other sports like baseball and football but hockey has lagged behind. Once we met Mark Fitzgerald and saw how his testing mirrors different elements of a player’s fitness and performance we saw the value in it for the players to get tested and track their progress throughout their amateur careers.”
Mark Fitzgerald has run hockey combines for the Canadian Hockey League and Under Armor and has been a strength and conditioning and performance coach at the highest levels of the game from the OHL, AHL (Toronto Marlies) and most recently NHL (Anaheim Ducks).
He has designed a series of hockey specific combine drills both on and off the ice to test a player’s athleticism, strength, balance, quickness, etc. Sports Testing Inc, will provide the state-of-the-art testing equipment, technology and analytics for players to track and evaluate their performance in each drill and discover strengths and weaknesses in their current fitness level.
