More USHL Coaching Changes

The Fargo Force will hire Nick Oliver to replace Scott Langer as head coach, according to a report from Brad Elliot Schlossman of The Grand Forks Herald.

Oliver has been an assistant coach with St. Cloud State since 2018. He has experience in the USHL and was previously an assistant coach and the director of scouting for the Sioux Falls Stampede from 2015-18. The Force alum also played two seasons for the team (2008-10) before he began his NCAA career at St. Cloud State.

Oliver, 30, is seen as an up-and-coming star in the coaching ranks.

Elsewhere, it’s been reported that Brad Patterson is out as the head coach of the Youngstown Phantoms. He has been with the organization since 2009 and has been the head coach since 2016. He began his career as an assistant with Youngstown in 2009. He was promoted to head coach in 2016 and was named GM in 2019.

There’s also the possibility that Dubuque will have an opening if Greg Brow gets hired to replace Jerry York at Boston College. Brown is a finalist for the job at BC.
