Lovell Hockey Academy Will Launch Next Season

Lovell Hockey has announced that in 2022 they will be launching two new major initiatives, Lovell Academy and Lovell Arena.

Owner Tim Lovell stated: “These new facilities have been specifically designed to provide academy players the opportunity to maximize their athletic potential by efficiently coordinating workouts with academic work.” He continued, “The college preparatory boarding school program will complement and expand upon Lovell’s highly regarded full season Midget hockey model.”

Six Lovell Academy teams (14U, 15U, 16U, 18U boys and 16U & 19U girls) will live and study in the custom built academy building, and the teams will skate and train next door at the arena, both currently under construction on a 55-acre campus just south of Boston in Rockland, Mass.

Lovell Academy is hiring its own faculty and developing its own curriculum, based on the highly regarded International Baccalaureate Program. The 40,000 square foot structure will include eight classrooms, an art and music studio, and a science lab. Classes will be scheduled alongside the players’ two on-ice training sessions and daily dryland training and conditioning.

All academy teams will have permanent, custom locker rooms within the 117,000 square foot Lovell Arena. The large restaurant will overlook all three NHL-sized ice sheets, and the mezzanines and center rink stands will accommodate 1,500 spectators. The building will also include a fitness and training center, pro shop, bowling lanes and golf simulators.

Lovell Arena is scheduled to open in July 2022, with the inaugural academy season beginning in Sept. 2022. The Lovell Academy staff is actively recruiting student-athletes at this time. Please visit www.lovellacademy.org for more information and to inquire about current openings.
