QMJHL: Halifax signs former Robert Morris forward

Former Robert Morris forward David Lafrance has signed in the QMJHL with the Halifax Mooseheads for the upcoming season. Lafrance is a 20-year-old and has one season of eligibility left.

General Manager Cam Russell said Lafrance will be on the roster when the regular season opens in October. He joins forward Zack Jones and fellow defenceman Brendan Tomilson as the three 20-year-old players on the team.

Last season as a freshman, Lafrance had 4 points in 14 games. This past May, RMU announced that. it was going to cut its program.

“When I saw what happened with his NCAA program folding, I spoke to Cam Russell and we jumped at the opportunity to see if David would have an interest in coming here,” said Halifax coach Sylvain Favreau. “He felt that playing in Halifax would be a great fit and he is really excited about it.”
