OHL will require COVID vaccines for players, staff and more

The Ontario Hockey League announced that all players, staff, and billet will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the upcoming season. The policy applies to “OHL Community Members,” which will include people who attend training camp, practices, games, or play in the league. The league’s regulations specifically referenced players, coaches, trainers, team and league staff, officials, volunteers, and billet families.

The OHL added that the league will work with members who do not want to be vaccinated to figure out a path forward.

The OHL said vaccines must be administered at least two weeks before the start of training camp, which is scheduled to begin on Sept. 4.
