FREE: Jarome Iginla Takes Junior Coaching Gig in B.C.

The RINK Hockey Academy in Kelowna, B.C. announced that NHL Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla has taken the job as the program’s U15 Prep team head coach.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time in retirement getting to coach our boys and their teams in competitive hockey out in Boston,” said Iginla. “I’m looking forward to getting back to Canada and having the opportunity to continue to work with the kids, helping them to get better, work towards their goals, and continuing to develop a passion for the game.”

RHA Kelowna, which was formerly known as the POE Hockey Academy, has teams that compete in the CSSHL. They currently have teams in the U15, U15 Prep, U16 Prep, U17 Prep, U18 Prep, and U18 Prep Female divisions.

Iginla’s son, Tij Iginla, has been playing for the Boston Jr. Eagles. His daughter, Jade, is in her first year with Shattuck St. Mary’s after a pair of seasons at Dexter Southfield.
