USHL’s Season Set to Open; Some Series Postponed

The USHL season is set to begin this weekend, but the league has had to announce postponements to three series due to COVID protocols.

The series between the Waterloo Blackhawks and Omaha Lancers was declared a no-contest. The league said that “minimum standards were not met to play this weekend’s games.” The league is working with both teams an in effort to reschedule those contests.

The games between the Des Moines Buccaneers and Sioux Falls Stampede – which were originally scheduled to begin tonight – have also been postponed for the same reasons. The league said that one game will be made up on Dec. 21 in Des Moines.

Finally, the games between the Fargo Force and Lincoln Stars have also been postponed. The games will instead by played on Dec. 3 and Feb. 11.

With tonight’s games postponed, the USHL season is now slated to begin tomorrow, with the lone game in Dubuque as the Fighting Saints host the Muskegon Lumberjacks. There are also three games scheduled for Saturday night.
