NCAA: Western Michigan Adds Goalie, Minnesota Lands Goal-Scorer

Western Michigan added goaltender Cameron Korpi for a projected 2023 arrival. Korpi, an ’04, is a Detroit native who played last season for Little Caesars 15U AAA team. In 38 games, Korpi posted a 1.83 GAA and a .916 save percentage. Korpi was one of five goalies invited to the U.S. NTDP Evaluation Camp this past March, prior to the camp getting shut down by COVID-19.

“Cameron is a smaller goalie who is quick side to side,” said our scouts. “He had a good 3 games and making a number of saves. He did have an issue getting beat high glove. Overall he competed and was very active in the crease.”

Minnesota added ’03 forward Brody Lamb, a Byron, Minn. native who plays for the Dodge County Wildcats. Last season he had 66 points, including a whopping 46 goals, in just 22 games.

“A smooth skating forward that likes to shoot the puck and can do so very well,” NZ scouts said. “Brody’s stride looks effortless and can stickhandle the same way. At times the puck seemed to be glued to his stick. Taller forward that got bumped off the puck a couple times but has the size to fill out.”
