NCAA Extends Recruiting Dead Period

The NCAA Division I Council announced that it has extended the recruiting dead period through Jan. 1, 2021. The dead period prohibits in-person recruiting, but teams are still allowed to contact recruits over the phone and other correspondence.

The dead period effectively prohibits coaches from making visits to the homes of recruits, and it prohibits schools from inviting recruits on official recruiting visits to campuses.

The dead period was instituted this past spring, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
