Niagara Adds Denver Goalie in Transfer Portal

Niagara has added goaltender Michael Corson out of the NCAA transfer portal. Corson, who is from Illinois, began his NCAA career at Denver where he ironically made a career-high 16 games against the Purple Eagles last season en route to being named the NCDC Goaltender of the Week.

The ’99-born Corson split time between the Blind River Beavers (NOJHL) and Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL) during the 2017-18 season, posting a 2.00 GAA and .949 SV% in 17 games with the Beavers and a 3.58 GAA and .909 SV% in 18 games with the Capitals. Prior to his junior career, Corson played for the Chicago Young Americans (HPHL) and the Chicago Fury along with a brief stop with the U.S. NTDP U17 team.

Corson will step into at Niagara where he’ll be competing for time with returners Brian Wilson (Sr.) and Chad Veltri (Soph.) as well as freshman Patrick Pugliese, who is joining the program out of the NAHL.
