Kitchener Signs Import Player

The Kitchener Rangers announced this week the signing of import goalie Pavel Cajan for this upcoming season. Cajan, who was selected with the No. 41 pick in the 2020 CHL Import Draft, was signed to a standard player agreement.

Last season the 17-year-old appeared in 29 games for Liberec Bili Tygri Jr., a team in the Czech DHL Cup. There, he posted a 3.13 GAA and a .915 save percentage.

Cajan, an ’02, was also dressing in games for the Czech U18 national team, appearing in three contests with a 1.55 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

“We are very excited to welcome Pavel to the Rangers. We feel he has all the tools to be a very good goaltender in our league,” said Rangers GM/head coach Mike McKenzie. “We look forward to having him in Kitchener and seeing him continue his development in a Rangers uniform.”
