USHL Says It’s Focused on Full 2020-21 Schedule

The USHL announced that it’s currently planning for a full 2020-21 schedule, with the season beginning in the fall as is customary.

The league’s board of directors met via video conference last Thursday to review the league’s Return to Play Protocol.

“Our Board of Directors meetings have been another great example of how in a time of uncertainty across sports, our Clubs are coming together to provide the best opportunity for our players to continue their development in the safest manner possible,” said USHL President and Commissioner Tom Garrity. “Each of our Member Clubs was represented as we discussed the best way to return to play for the 2020-21 season while ensuring the safety of everyone involved in returning to the ice.”

The league has created a Return to Play document, which will be updated daily, and there is guidance for organizations on safety protocols at the local, state and national level. The USHL said it’s utilizing guidelines from the CDC and are collaborating with reps from the NHL and USA Hockey.
