New Dartmouth head coach Reid Cashman has rounded out his coaching staff at Dartmouth, hiring two current ECAC assistant coaches.
Union’s Jason Tapp and Princeton’s Stavros Paskaris to his staff. Tapp and Paskaris will take on the bulk of the responsibility this summer, as Cashman will remain on staff with the Washington Capitals through the Stanley Cup Playoffs, per a release when he was hired.
Tapp will serve as associate head coach, the same role he had on Rick Bennett’s staff at Union.
While on staff at Union, Tapp helped elevate the Dutchmen to a national power that included three ECAC Hockey postseason titles (2012, ’13 and ’14) and the 2014 Division I National Championship.
Tapp played four seasons at Boston University as a goaltender, graduating in 2002 with a degree in US History. He has worked with Union’s goalies while on staff, starting with the program as a goalie coach under former head coach Nate Leaman.
Paskaris makes the move to Dartmouth from Princeton where he was a staff member from 2014-20, helping the program capture the 2018 ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to his time with Princeton, Paskaris was an assistant for five seasons at Adrian College under Ron Fogarty, who would bring him to New Jersey when he was named the Tigers’ bench boss in 2014. As the first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Adrian, Paskaris helped the Bulldogs to a 114-19-9 record. The team won four Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) regular-season titles, three MCHA playoff championships and earned four NCAA Tournament bids.
