2020 NHL Draft information
The Draft itself will take place after the Stanley Cup has been won.
There are seven teams who have already been eliminated from the playoffs (Ottawa, Detroit, Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose, New Jersey and Buffalo) and each is in contention for the #1 overall selection.
All 15 non-playoff teams (including the eight teams that get eliminated during the playoff qualifying round tournament) will have a chance at the top three selections in the 2020 NHL Draft. A “Phase II” Draft lottery might be required if one of those eight teams wins one of the first three lotteries.

He thrives in transition and has an uncanny ability to hit the stretch man in stride.Brian Murphy-US Director of Scouting
Ridly Greig (Brandon Wheat Kings)-https://www.neutralzone.net/mens/nhl-scouting-reports/ridly-greig-the-process/
On the penalty kill he plays with active feet and an active stick. He anticipates opponents well, and when he sees a chance to blow up a play he jumps all over it.Donald Godreau-Western Canadian Scout
Plus, I think his speed will get better after spending extended periods of time with Michigan’s strength and conditions coaches, so you’re going to be drafting a kid who can contribute all over the line-up. I like his overall game and his trajectory is heading in the right direction.Ian Moran-Director of NZ NHL
I know his plus/minus was horrific, but he skates well enough for an NHL coaching staff to teach him how to be reliable in his end and how to back check with a purpose. So it comes down to his scoring and I think he will score in the NHL.Ian Moran-Director of NHL NZ
Xavier Simoneau (Drummondville Voltigeurs)-https://www.neutralzone.net/mens/nhl-scouting-reports/xavier-simoneau-the-process/
The captain of the Voltigeurs is the heartbeat of this hockey team playing each shift like it’s his last.Sortiri Athanasopoulos-Head Scout NZ Quebec
A multi-dimensional, versatile defenseman who can contribute in every situation. He’s explosive with the puck on his stick, has high level athleticism, can walk the offensive blue line and has a keen ability to get pucks through traffic and on net. Sanderson has NHL top pairing potential.Brendan Collins-Director of North American Scouting
A player everyone hates to play against. Ryan shows high compete and engages physically on every shift. He uses his speed to draw penalties and his willingness to get to the dirty areas of the ice is a real asset.Marlin Muylaert-Director of Canadian Scouting
