NCAA: Commitments at Stonehill, Wesleyan, Franklin Pierce, Elmira

’00 F Max Pineo commits to Stonehill for 2020

Pineo played four years of high-school hockey at Austin Prep and this season is at the Tilton School, where he scored nine goals and added 11 assists in 26 games.

At Austin Prep, Pineo scored 17 goals and 12 assists in 23 games as a senior.

NZ Scouts: “The 5’8 forward gives a solid effort on every shift. He is a very consistent player in all three zones when you watch him over long stretches. He has very quick feet and gains a lot of speed. He buzzes all around the ice; but mainly he likes to take away the opposition’s breath on the forecheck. He is a pain to play against and is not afraid to finish his checks.”

’00 G Erik Voloshin commits to Wesleyan for 2020

Voloshin spent this season in the NCDC with South Shore after a prep career at Milton Academy. He’s a native of Bedford, N.H. and posted a .909 save percentage and a 3.52 GAA this season with the Kings.

NZ Scouts: “Voloshin is Milton’s best player; he is controlled, has great vision, tracks pucks through traffic and swallows up rebounds. He was hung out to dry several times and came up with big stops to keep his team in games. He doesn’t have ideal size for the position but he moves well, he’s technically sound and makes difficult stops looks easy with his footwork and positioning.”

’99 F Cody Rumsey commits to Franklin Pierce for 2020

Rumsey played for Team Maryland in the EHL and he spent a lot of time in the league, with a previous stop at W-B/Scranton. This past season, he appeared in 42 games and finished with 13 goals and 27 assists.

NZ Scouts: “Cody moved well tonight without the puck. He was aggressive on the fore-check.  Cody was not afraid to get physical against larger players tonight in order to create space.”

’99 F Jonas Leas commits to Elmira for 2020

Leas is a Vermont native who played this past season north of the border in the OJHL. In 34 games for Aurora and North York, Leas finished with six goals and 12 assists.

Leas is well-traveled, spending a year in British Columbia for bantams and also spent a season in the NOJHL.
