NCAA: Wisconsin’s Dhooghe Announces Transfer to Arizona State

Sean Dhooghe became the first NCAA player to announce he’s transferring, utilizing the NCAA transfer portal. Dhooghe, who was an assistant captain at Wisconsin this season, will transfer as a graduate student, which means he’ll be eligible to play for the Sun Devils immediately.

Dhooghe was being pursued by multiple teams, including a few in Hockey East. He appeared in 28 games this season — he was scratched down the stretch — and had 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists). In total, he appeared in 67 games for Badgers and scored 11 goals and 21 assists.

St. Lawrence picked up ’99 forward Logan Ritchie from the Kenai River Brown Bears (NAHL). The Missouri native is in his second NAHL season where he has 48 points in 52 games.

“Logan is a hard working player who uses his speed and playmaking ability to be effective,” scouts said. “He also has a quick release and the ability to score goals.”

SUNY-Geneseo should be excited about ’00-born forward Zach Rehbaum, who committed on Friday. Our scouts like the New York native’s skill. Over the last two seasons, he has 93 points in 86 games in the NCDC for the Northern Cyclones.

“Zach showed excellent skill and pace he is tricky in space and made rapid decisions,” NZ scouts said. “He bumped pucks to his linemates on the rush and in transition. We also liked his vision near the net as he made a lot of crafty plays to put people in scoring spots. His first step is excellent and he can separate in space.”

Amherst College added a proven scorer in ’00-born Pomfret forward Tyler Bourque. The Rhode Island native had 40 points in 32 games this season and in the last two seasons at Pomfret he’s scored 43 goals.

Wisconsin River Falls added ’99-born defenseman Brock Draeger. The former Lakeville North High player has been with the St. Cloud Blizzard (NAHL) for the last three seasons. This year, the stay-at-home D has 15 points in 50 games.

Post picked up a commitment from ’01 forward Jake Hoadley, a Connecticut native who played for the Kent School this season. On top of playing for Kent, Hoadley had five points in 10 games for the New Jersey River Rats in the BEAST U18 division and he also played for Selects Academy before joining Kent.

“Jake is a slick, playmaking forward that works well in transition,” NZ scouts said. “Has average speed and will need to add a step to gain separation. He drives the puck wide and uses his reach to protect it from defenders.”

Southern New Hampshire head coach Sean Walsh picked up a commitment from ’00-born defenseman Jack Johansen out of the East Coast Wizards (EHL).

Johansen finished this season with 23 points in 41 games on the blue line. Prior to the Wizards, he played for the New England Wolves (EHL) and at Bishop Guertin High in New Hampshire.

” Instead of the full back-scratcher slap shot, he uses an old school half slapper and it’s brutally quick: tough for the defense to get in front of,” our scouts noted.
