Bryce Witman Commits to Fredonia

Bryce Witman has committed to SUNY Fredonia for the 2018-2019 season. The three-star forward from the Philadelphia Little Flyers is one of the highest rated players from the EHL. NZ scouts described Witman as someone who plays both ends of the nice, with a high compete level, and slick hands and touch near the goal.

The Pennsylvania native reflected on his recent commitment:

“I want to thank my parents for all the long car rides, early mornings, and money spent,” said Witman. “I’d like to thank all my coaches who have helped me along the way, including Mark Catron and Mike Narrigan. Thank you to the Giacobbo family and the Little Flyers organization for all the years of squirts through midgets, and also taking me in so late in this current season. Finally, I’d like to thank my teammates that have been by my side every step of the way. I am very excited to be a Blue Devil this fall. Thank you to Coach Meredith for giving me the opportunity to continue my academic and hockey career at an amazing school.”

Witman came to the Little Flyers late in the season after beginning this year with the New Jersey Titans. With his skill set and past years of success, Witman and the Little Flyers hope to become the first team in EHL history to win both the regular season and postseason championships in the same year.

Mark Catron, the head Coach and general manager of the Little Flyers, said the following about his recent add to his roster:

“We are all really happy for Bryce, He came to us pretty much committed; I know he had been interested in Fredonia for a while, and they committed him as soon as he got here. What he means to our team, he is a big kid that can really shoot the puck, create and carry the puck through all zones. We’ve seen him for the last few years in this league, and he’s always been a solid player, it’s great to have him on our team this year. He did a lot of damage to us last season; he’s such a good all-around player with good size. I know he is going to do really well in college and have a great career at Fredonia.”

Now in his fourth season in the EHL, Witman is currently ranked 3rd in league history for all-time points during regular season play. During his three seasons (134 games) with the Philadelphia Revolution, Witman tallied 72 goals while dishing out 61 assists. Meanwhile during the 5 games the forward has been with the Little Flyers, Witman has been able to tally 3 goals and 11 assists.

When the year comes to a finish, the talented scorer will leave his mark throughout the EHL record books, and he’s a player to keep tabs on when he arrives at Fredonia.
