OJHL Scouting Report: Trenton Golden Hawks vs. Lindsay Muskies

Neutral Zone headed to Trenton on Wednesday, September 14 to watch the Lindsay Muskies play the Trenton Golden Hawks in early season OJHL action. The following players were the top two forwards and top two defense of the game. Above are their names and letter grades in this game.

Forward:

A

Lucas Brown (R, 5’10”/190 Trenton Golden Hawks 1996)

Lucas is one of the best two way forwards in the OJHL. He is probably in the top five as a defensive forward but his over 2 point per game average makes him more than a two-way player. Last year in the playoffs he took his game to the next level. He played huge minutes on all special teams and was assigned the task of matching up against other team’s best lines. Not only did he help shut other teams best down he produced points that help Trenton to the RBC National Finals. He has above average speed and agility. He is gritty and never gets out worked. His consistency sets him apart

Liam Morgan (R 5’11” 205lbs Trenton Golden Hawks 1998)

Liam plays on a line with Lucas Brown. He helps shut others lines down while currently averaging 2 points per game. Liam is a finisher. He has a strong desire to score. He can also set his teammates up. He has an exceptional work ethic and toughness that make him hard to play against.

Defense:

A

Matt McNamara (RD, 6’ 186lbs Lindsay Muskies 2000)

Matt is a Peterborough Petes (OHL) draft pick and recently played for them. He is the type of player that you can’t stop watching. He defends well and offensively is dynamic. Every shift he tries to make something happen.

Josh Allan (LD 5’10” 200lbs Trenton Golden Hawks 1997)

Josh is great 2 way defenseman. He is a power play specialist but is called on a lot to kill penalties. He moves the puck incredibly well and skate with confidence. He possesses leadership skills and can handle the big minutes for Trenton as a go to defender.
